V&A Decode generative identity from postspectacular on Vimeo.
So I went to London last Friday and besides spending heaps on vinyl (inevitable), I visited the Decode Interactive Art exhibition at the V&A. As an Interactive Media student, the showcase was an inspiration to me with installations like Daniel Rozin‘s Weave Mirror and Julius Popp‘s Bit.Code showing that digital art doesn’t necessarily have to be confined to a screen. Keeping in theme with the idea of Interactivity, The V&A and Schmidt have created a generative marketing campaign where artists can take Schmidt’s Decode (above) and remix (or ‘recode’) the work with the best examples being displayed on digital billboards around London. A truly forward thinking marketing strategy reflecting the nature of the exhibition as a whole!
