If you know anything about me, you will know I am a massive vinyl and turntable enthusiast. I was therefore saddened to see forums such as inthemix reporting that due to low sales figures, (as a result of the digital revolution within music and the increasing amount of DJs converting to CDs and Pioneer CDJs) the Technics branch of Panasonic will cease their entire production line in 2010. For 35 years, Technics turntables have been the industry standard with classic models such the 1210 series shaping the backbone to possibly all DJ culture. This in mind, its a shame to see the death of such an established brand and possibly the subsequent death of the use of vinyl within the world of DJing. I will, however, continue to support the use of Technics and vinyl until the death.
