I recently presented a talk at Abacus (my workplace) as part of an ongoing internal series of presentations called Lunch and Learn.

I’ve posted the slides up online for those that are interested in reading more.

Background

Abacus is a fairly large agency with about 80 employees across a number of different departments. Whilst some departments work closely together, others rarely do and so don’t get much exposure to each others working processes and job roles.

With that in mind, the concept behind Lunch and Learn is that each instalment is an opportunity for a department to showcase who they are, what they do and what challenges they are presented with on a day to day basis.

This month it was the turn of the front end web development department and I chose to give the talk.

Since many departments have little or no technical knowledge of how websites are created, I tried to assume as little prior knowledge of front end as possible and work from there.

Slides can be found here and I’ll add the slide notes shortly.
